mmm. Am out of town and, in fact going to have a burger bbq tonight @ Lori's sister's place on a ridge looking out to the black hills. Will report. Meanwhile I've had the BOTM #5 and #6.
I like it when the burger is a little greasy and way juicy. Medium pack. Thick rather than thin - at least as thick as my right thumb resting on its side. Possibly as thick as that thumb plus my left index finger laid on it, print side down. Two thumbs would be too thick. Medium packed - not crumbly but also not steaky. I don't like lettuce on a burger - I eat that on the side. Ditto tomato. But cheddar, blue, Swiss, all OK. Why does Swiss get fried and tough quicker than the others when the burger sits for a while. I'm fussy about the bread. I'm OK with non-standard breads - in fact the thin dark bread that Noho Star uses on it's Brit burger (Stilton hello) might be my favorite. OK now I have to go see if BOTM has reviewed that burger.
