Just read Michael Pollan's Aug. 2 NYT Mag article, Out of the Kitchen, Onto the Couch. It starts with Julia, then Julie & Julia (see our own juju here), then Food Network and competition shows, and swims through the whole sad fact that most people just don't cook anymore - they eat ready-mades and watch cooking shows. Worth the read, but likely preaching to the choir.
