
For years I've looked in junk shops and antique shops and flea markets for old kitchen knives that struck my fancy, pretty much without finding anything I liked. But now in the last six months or so I've bought three knives, and I think I'm done. (Except maybe in the small knife, paring knife end of things.) Any way, this past weekend at the
Brooklyn Flea I purchased big Bertha up above - 8 inches of very heavy blade. Note the flattened area above the eyelet - clearly had been hammer-whacked regularly. Bone bustin'. Can't quite make out the maker's name, but...
